ingredients
For the bread:
3/4 cup of crystallized sugar
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup of oil
1 large egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or almond extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder ** (see notes)
1/4 teaspoon of salt
2 cups of diced strawberries
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
For icing:
2 cups of powdered sugar
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/3 cup strawberries cut into small cubes
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract or almond extract
1-2 tablespoons of heavy cream or milk ** (optional)

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium bowl, combine sugar, milk, oil, egg and vanilla. In an0ther bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add dry ingredients to moist ingredients and stir until everything is well mixed.
In a small bowl, combine the strawberries and 2 tablespoons flour to coat the strawberries. Stir floured strawberries gently into the dough.
Pour the dough into a greased 9 "x5" bread pan. Bake at 350 degrees f0r 50 to 55 minutes. A toothpick inserted in the center of the bread must come out clean. Let the bread cool for 10 minutes, then put it on a rack to allow it to cool completely.
To make the glaze, mix the powdered sugar, the melted butter, the diced strawberries and extract them in a small bowl. Mix until smooth.
Once the bread has cooled, spread the icing on the bread. Slice and serve.
